Day 24

Had grapes and water this morning.

Black bean soup for lunch.  A couple of bites of caramel macchiato ice cream because it's been in the freezer for weeks mocking me.

Black bean soup for dinner, too.  Yay for leftovers!  Grapes.  Pedialyte popsicle.

Um. Technically it's Day 29 but let's pretend last week didn't happen. DAY 23

Holy crap.  Have I really not written anything here since May 4?  That is disgraceful.  You people suck at calling me out.  How can I be successful at losing weight if no one shames me when I flail?  Honestly.

Between being sick and having all of my finals being rescheduled so that I never had more than a day or so between each one, the whole dieting/exercise thing temporarily fell apart.  But I'll be back on the train tomorrow, hopefully no damage done.  I didn't bother to weigh in this week because I didn't want to feel badly since obviously last week didn't go so hot.

Starting over.  Today:

Watermelon and coffee this morning (breakfast of champions)

Made black bean soup for dinner (I substituted ham bouillon cubes for the ham hock and fat-free plain yogurt for the sour cream.)

Enjoyed a leftover Pedialyte popsicle (I might be addicted.  Must be the electrolytes.)

Day 22

If you scroll down, you'll see that I have eaten nothing substantial for the last three weeks, for a variety of reasons, including persistent vomiting.  This isn't even so much a diet diary anymore but Vomit Watch 2010.  Are we tired of that word yet?  Because I have said it a lot in the last two weeks.  Vomit, vomit, vomit.  You are tired of it?  Well, I'm tired of doing it.  Now that that's settled, today around 6 pm I realized that all I'd eaten all day was a popsicle and I decided enough was enough.  I needed to try to eat something a bit heartier than soup and grapefruit smoothies.

So I got takeout - pasta with grilled chicken and broccoli in a white wine sauce with a small Caesar side salad.  It felt good.  My tummy grumbled a bit after but so far, so good.

That's it, all I ate today.  I can't wait for things to be back to normal.

Day 21

Caught up in a studying frenzy and afraid to eat anything substantial because I cannot reschedule another final due to illness.

Up at 7:30 - had final at 8:45

Afterwards had oatmeal with brown sugar, walnuts and splash of milk.  Cup of tea.

Lunch - Lipton noodle soup with saltines

Dinner - grapefruit smoothie (juice of one fresh grapefruit, juice of one fresh lime, a little agave nectar, ice and and a bit of water) and some bread

I'm terrified to eat!

After all the craziness of last week between being sick, not really dieting and not working out, I was just hoping not to put any pounds back on.  I was quite pleased to find today that I lost a pound last week.  I'll take it.

Back to studying.

Days 17 - 20

So.  Thursday morning (Day 17), I opened the store where I work part-time.  Had a 12 oz. coffee.  Met with a professor at 1:00.  Went home.  Had a whole-wheat turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mustard.  Had some strawberries.  Went back to school to study for my final on Friday.  Got a small sugar-free vanilla latte.  Then around 4:30, started vomiting.  'Cause, you know, that's what I do on Thursday afternoons now.  I had to be driven home and proceeded to vomit for roughly the next 8 hours.

Friday morning, I called the registrar to reschedule the final I should have taken that morning.  Then a friend picked me up and took me to the doctor.  "Sounds like a bug that just wasn't completely out of your system yet.  Come back if it keeps happening."  Thank you.  That was so incredibly helpful.

So Friday, Day 18: soup, popsicles, ice.  Then, finally Saturday, I added some strawberries and peaches.  This morning, I tried a bagel and some tea.  So far, so good.

Hopefully, whatever terrible malady had attacked my body is now done fighting and I can concentrate on finals.  I have exams on Monday, Tuesday (the rescheduled one), Thursday and Saturday this week.  Should be a hoot.  Preferably, vomit-free.

Day 16

Up at 8:30.

Lunch - a sesame seed bagel with cream cheese and a vanilla latte

Dinner - sandwich on whole wheat bread with turkey, tomato, lettuce, and mustard; strawberries

Snack - grapefruit

Only a liter of water today.  Two popsicles.  You know what's great about leftover Pedialyte popsicles?  No nutrition label because technically they're medicinal.  I'm pretty sure that means there's no calories.  Plus, electrolytes!

No gym today.  Focusing on my first final coming up Friday.

Day 15

My appetite came back at 3:00 am last night when my rumbly stomach decided it was time.  I insisted it wait until a more decent hour and then had oatmeal with walnuts, brown sugar and a splash of milk.  I also treated myself to a small toffee nut soy latte at Starbucks, my all-time favorite coffee drink.  Finished it.

For dinner, I had a cup of corn chowder and a small salad of greens, currants, blue cheese and harvest bread with balsamic vinaigrette from Corner Bakery.  I think things are back to normal

About a liter of water and two popsicles today too.

The gym might be back in the cards for tomorrow.  We shall see.
